We are learning about the pilgrims and how the Indians taught them to plant corn. As a combined science project and hands-on history lesson, we planted corn. One pot is planted with dead fish that I got from a pet store before they threw them out. This is to represent how the Indians told the Pilgrims to plant the corn with the dead fish to help fertilize the soil and help the corn grow. The other pot is planted without the dead fish. We will see if any corn comes up and then watch and see if the one planted with the fish grows faster or taller and observe the differences.
