My hubby surprised me by calling me one day saying that a client of his was giving away this bird and wanted to know if I would like it, which of course, I did! So, we now have an Indian Ringneck Parakeet. It is really a small parrot, not the budgie that comes to mind when you think about parakeets. Right now we are guessing it is a girl, but it is still very young. Males will develop a black ring around their neck when they molt around three, so it may be a male that has not yet developed his ring. I am enjoying listening to its chirping and squawking. He/she does not have a name yet. I am trying to think more of a unisex name since we are not positive yet if she is a girl. Do you have any suggestions?
