Basement Redo

One of the biggest projects we have done to our new house is to make the basement more kids friendly so that they want to play down there.  A couple of the kids have been scared to even go down there alone.  The walls were painted a deary hospital greenish color and there was not much light down there.  We wanted to brighten it up and make it more cheerful.  The first two pictures are the before.

We painted it a bright yellow and added more lighting.  We got the used couch from Goodwill.  Recently we added a Blue's Clues Thinking Chair that we found at Goodwill.  We also found a small table and chair in the As Is section at Ikea last time we went.  We are decorating the walls with some decals and other decorations.  We also plan to put up some sort of covering on the ceiling to cover all of the floor joists and plumbing, and electrical cords.  Once we get more down I will try to get more pictures taken, but here are a couple of the after pictures for now.  The kids like being down there a lot more now, which is nice to keep their toys a little more contained into one area.
